Girls formed in 1994, signed
to Virgin Records in 1995,
released their first single
in July 1996 and by Christmas
of that year had become major
international stars. In their
4 and a half year recording
career they had established
themselves as one of Britain’s
biggest ever musical exports,
selling 35 million albums
and over 25 million singles
worldwide. They also starred
in their own movie, Spiceworld
(1997), and toured extensively
around the world, playing
103 shows throughout 1998.
Along the way they, transformed
the entire landscape of pop,
in particular re-shaping the
way that girl groups were
perceived. No cultural phenomenon
of the late 20th century was
more extensively discussed
and dissected - during which
conversation each of the girls
has nipped out to launch a
successful solo career.
HIGHLIGHTS of the epoch-defining
story of the Spice Girls so

8 number 1 hit singles in
the UK (Wannabe, Say You’ll
Be There, 2 Become 1, Mama,
Who Do You Think You Are,
Spice Up Your Life, Too Much,
Viva Forever and - their third
Christmas chart topper in
a row - Goodbye.) This overall
achievement puts them on a
par with Michael Jackson and
George Michael. Only the Beatles
had previously scored 3 consecutive
Christmas number ones.
In the US the Spice Girls
were the first UK act ever
to go to number 1 with their
debut single. The song - Wannabe,
made number 1 in 31 countries.
Their first album Spice, released
in November 1996, earned platinum
status, or higher, in 35 countries.
In the UK it is one of the
best selling albums of all
time with sales in excess
of 3.5 million.
Their second album Spiceworld,
released in October 1997,
earned platinum status, or
higher, in 41 countries.
Among dozens of industry awards,
they have won BRITS for Best
Single, Video, Outstanding
Contribution; MTV Awards for
Best Band, Best Dance Act,
Best Single and an Ivor Novello
songwriting gong in 1998.
As a live act, the Spice Girls
have broken several box office
records, selling out the 30,000
seat Gelredome in Arnhem in
15 minutes and New York’s
Madison Square Garden in a
hectic 12 minutes. In their
last 4 stadium shows in the
UK at Don Valley Sheffield
and Wembley they performed
to nearly 200,000 fans. All
this while half of the group
was pregnant… With the recent
reunion, London's Spice Girls
reunion concert was sold out
in 38 seconds after fans were
notified tickets had gone
on sale.

American tour sold out in
a few seconds and we are adding

Following the completion of
the 1998 world tour, the girls
devoted more time to their
SOLO CAREERS.
Melanie B led the way in October
1998 with her first single,
collaboration with Missy Elliot
‘I Want You Back’ which went
straight to number 1 in the
UK. Her single, Tell Me, went
top 5 in the UK ahead of the
release of her debut album,
Hot.
Melanie C put out her first
solo album Northern Star in
October 1999 and it sold in
excess of 1.5m copies worldwide.
In the UK Northern Star hit
double platinum and spawned
4 top 5 singles, including
2 number 1’s.
Emma Bunton provided lead
vocals on Tin Tin Out’s version
of What I Am, which made number
2 in the UK in October 1999.
She has also presented various
TV shows for, among others,
VH1, and a solo album released
in 2001
Victoria Beckham enjoyed her
first solo success with the
True Steppers in August 2000
duetting with Dane on their
number 2 hit Out Of Your Mind.
Her solo album was released
in 2001. She too has begun
working in television, hosting
her own show Victoria’s Secrets
for Channel 4.
2007 sees the return of the
spice girls with the release
of the long awaited ‘Spice
Girls: Greatest Hits’ album,
featuring 13 of the Girls
smash hits and two brand-new
tracks , “Voodoo,” and the
new single “Headlines (Friendship
Never Ends),” their first
since 2000’s double A-side
“Holler / Let Love Lead the
Way.”. There is also a special
CD + DVD edition which features
the music videos.
The enduring popularity of
the Spice Girls smash hit
singles has proved that their
appeal crosses generations,
around the world. Scheduled
to be on tour for the next
two months.... performing
at sold out concerts, amidst
all the fanfare that is the
spice girls - of elaborate
staging, designer costumes
and glamour, we will once
